Cape Ann Museum
The Cape Ann Historical Museum is located at 27 Pleasant Street in downtown Gloucester, Massachusetts, America’s oldest fishing port. Cape Ann – which includes the city of Gloucester as well as the towns of Rockport, Manchester and Essex – has also been a leading center for artists since the 19th century and the source of granite for building projects up and down the East coast. The Museum maintains and exhibits material relating to these major themes.
In addition to its permanent collections, the Museum offers a rotating schedule of special exhibits throughout the year. For information on these exhibits and related lectures, programs, and events. The Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Museum is closed to the public during the month of February and on major holidays.
