FenwayWhat used to be a swamp is now the Boston Fenway Kenmore Square Neighborhood. Located near major Universities – Northeastern and Boston University, this area has a very large concentration of students. It’s a great place to find fairly inexpensive food, clubs and bars. If you are looking for a great night on the town – the highest concentration of Bars and Dance Clubs – look no further than Lansdowne St. located right next to Fenway Park. The Lansdowne, Bills Bar, Jillians, Lucky Strike, Copperfields, Cask’n Flagon, The Bleacher Bar, House of Blues, Boston Beer Works. (Map of Clubs) This area is also home to many of Boston’s attractions: Fenway Park – Boston Red Sox Stadium, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, Massachusetts Historical Society, Symphony Hall, New England Conservatory of Music, Simmons College and Harvard Medical School. Be sure to visit the Back Bay Fens, transformed by Fredrick Law Olmsted (Central Park Architect) into beautiful open park space, it makes up one of the Jewels of the Emerald Necklace. The Rose Garden here is worth seeing. Many residents even tend their own gardens here. At 660 Beacon Street in Kenmore Square, you can find the landmark Citgo sign. The largest sign in New England, the CITGO sign measures 60 feet by 60 feet and contains more than five miles of neon tubes. Here is a good game day tip: Park at the Sheraton on Dalton Street in nearby Back Bay and walk over, parking is not only cheaper, but easier to get out after the game.
