The Boston Omni Parker House Hotel is America’s longest continually operating hotel. The property has recently gone under a $70 million dollar renovation. Highlights include clean well appointed rooms, comfortable firmer beds, an excellent friendly staff, a restaurant, two bars and a wonderful fitness facility. The location is ideal, right on the Freedom Trail, minutes from Faneuil Hall, and a block away from the subway. On the downside, since this is a historic hotel be aware the rooms are very small and not all bathrooms have tubs. Here’s a tip: Join the free “Select Guest Program” to get coffee, juice and newspaper every morning. If you have small children be sure to ask about the Omni Kids Program.

Bottom Line:
If you want to be on the Freedom trail the Parker House is a great choice. This historic hotel is a good value and the staff is great! If you can live with the smallish rooms and like old world charm try the Omni.
