Avda. Virgen de la Peña, Tel : 952 486 774The only chicken shop in Mijas just happens to serve the best roast chicken in the World. Run by Angel and Sandra, their chickens can sell out fast along with their homemade croquettes, ribs, stew, chicken pies and salads.
Not strictly a restaurant but well worth a visit, there are a few tables outside the shop if you want to sit and eat but this is mainly take-away. Small selection of wines and beers available.
Molino del Cura (CLOSED)
Ctra. de Mijas, Tel : 952 485 813Molino del Cura is a beautiful Thai restaurant located 500 meters before the entrance to Mijas village. With a very extensive menu of dishes from northern, central and southern Thailand and optional set menus for both lunch and dinner, this is very popular restaurant.
Bookings are required during the holiday seasons.
El Olivar
Avda. Virgen de la Peña, Tel : 952 486 196Situated in front of the main bus stop and beside the Town Hall, El Olivar has great views of the valley and coast below. The menu serves traditional Andalusian snacks and meals although reviews for this restaurant are hit and miss.
La Alcazaba
Plaza de la Constitución, Tel : 952 590 253La Alcazaba restaurant has some of the best views of the coast and a very extensive menu available. Prices are more expensive than most restaurants in the village, however it is very popular for special occasions such as new years eve and birthdays. Reviews of this restaurant have been mixed regarding the food and service.
Los Arcos
Plaza Virgen de la Peña, Tel : 952 485 790Situated in the corner of the main plaza, the restaurant is mainly aimed at tourists. The waiters can be a little pushy and try to persuade you to enter as you pass-by although the town hall has made this now illegal to do. The menu has mainly Spanish and local dishes, all reasonable priced and the quality of food is generally good although the menu selection is surprisingly limited. Please note, menu prices do not include taxes.
The Village Inn & Northern Indian Tandoori
Avda. de Mejico, Tel : 669 900 781Half-English Bar, half-Indian restaurant, the Village Inn is popular for English residents and visitors to Mijas. Situated before the center of the village, they serve very good Indian food and the staff (all from Nepal) are very friendly. Take-aways are also available.
